Workshop Objectives:
1. Present the concept of ‘Urban Energy Islands’ from technical, social, business, and legal perspectives.
2. Provide an overview of key functional building blocks, including demand response services for electricity, heat, and electric vehicles, and the multi-vector optimizer interconnecting different energy domains.
3. Discuss these services from various angles, including optimization methods, social campaigns for community involvement, and innovative business models.
4. Illustrate the services with practical results from technical and social experiments in the 3 RENergetic pilots.
5. Demonstrate the Energy Island Virtual Reality Communication Tool to visualize how an energy island operates and the impact of different implementation scenarios.
6. Offer a hands-on tutorial on using the open RENergetic platform, which includes a range of assets, microservices, and manuals for setting up your own energy island.
